Age 87; Born in Chicago and raised in County Sligo, Ireland; Cherished husband of Nora, nee Sullivan for 61 years; Adored father of Margaret (Dan) Montag, Mary (Kevin) Kilbride, Michael (Marcia), Jack (Laura), and Jim (Dawn); Doting papa of Mike and Patrick Montag; Maggie and Molly Kilbride; Catherine, Grace, and Erin Cooke; Braeden, Lily, and the late Connor Cooke; Jacob, Matt, John, and Danny Cooke; Dear brother of the late Anna Marie (late Walter) O’Malley; Proud member of Chicago Gaelic Park, and a loyal volunteer for many years; John’s devotion to God was matched only by his steadfast commitment to his wife and children; Visitation Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Funeral Friday, 8:30 a.m. from Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th Street, Chicago Ridge to St. Linus Church, 10300 S.
